  Why not just live bait bonitos off Palm beach to Jupiter during the moon phase...plenty of marlin caught this way, not many people willing to put in the time....expense is probly the same...the spring and summer live bait bite is good enough to stay home and try it...I have done it...small blues in the 150 to 250 range for me, but Capt. Eli brown on the "do stay" I think was good at catching bigger fish...yes it's a pain in the *** to catch bone heads and weed through the cudas, more sharks and more sharks, a few wahoo, and then a blueman.....one of my capts, fish or die fame...hooked up on a big blue on a bonehead on his small boat....many years ago....it can be done...I would do it again if I was able...lots of fun in the sun...

  I know a guy in St. Croix whose a Marlin fishermen. He went to high school with me in Baltimore and has been living on the island every since. I went down there to fish with him in 2012 and it was a great trip. PM me and i can give you his contact info. St. Croix and St Thomas are very close as you probably know.

  Anytime. Hes got a pretty neat boat down there too. He ran a sportfish and a CC last time i was down there.

  Not sure what your budget is but I would go the Dominican Republic before going to St. Thomas. Most American boats are now going and staying in the DR for the spring and summer. The fishing has been better, the amenities are way nicer, and its safer.

  I went out with Captain Red on the Abigail III about 10 years ago and caught a 150 pound blue and had about a 400 pounder on,his boat is great and he worked hard to get me that fish. I've also heard Captain Eddie on the Marlin Prince is really good as well.
