Tackle shop next to outdoor resort

There was a local that poured smoke and root beer shrimp jig tails and red and gold flake jig heads and sold them there. I haven't been down in a while and would like to get a hold of some. Does anyone one know if he still makes and sells them?

Chawk2, you brought me out of the woodwork. I think you are referring to Bill Miller's "sure thing". He sold the rights and molds to Hallemin lures. Try halleminlures.com.

Bingo. As simple has they look these things work. Now I'm on my quest to find an old 2-3" silver reflecto spoon with the green holo strip with a yellow feather. Thanks

I know Win Car had similar heads and bodies. I have seen the bodies at Outdoor Resorts and River Wilderness. Now, this was a while ago though.

Hallemin lures had only limited supply as the guy who was making them is moving away. He only had 3/8 oz heads in stock back in October.

Here are the closet I have found to what you are looking for in tails. Hogies or Offshore Angler.

Win Car and Everglades Bait and Tackle (at the circle) have the best selection of tackle for the Glades.
Seems like Kenny is scaling back on tackle at O.R..
River Wilderness has never sold any tackle. Don't know if you meant Glades Haven.

I try to buy local when possible, keep the stores open in Everglades.

Any word on the future of Seafood Depot ?????
It was decent and open late for that area.

Win Car will have the Reflecto spoons you seek :)

Heck, they have a sweet old Reflecto Spoon display case on the wall of the office from the 1940s. Its crazy how well those simple lures still work on Snook and Tarpon. I prefer the #3 with a white feather, but some locals swear by the red (everyone loves red and white down here), and some guys fish only the chartreuse. One thing is for sure it seems- without a feather its a trout and mackerel bait.

With the feather (and a slow-swagger retrieve) it continues to put the hurtin' on Snook and Tarpon.

Also- John at the Marathon Gas Station in town has been slowly assembling a respectable assortment of tackle. It is local kids doing the ordering so there is a lot of what you need, and very little of what you don't. If it's on the rack there, it is worth using.

You will even see a few odd-ball lures like Devil's Horses, etc. that don't typically end up displayed next to MirroLures and Flare Hawks, haha. But I assure you, Devils Horses (and even Tiny Torpedos) will beat the snot out of Tarpon and Snook when they are looking up.
