I'm gonna try to keep it short and sweet but detailed.......
So I get to the boat on Monday 9/29 @ 3pm,our departure wasn't till 8pm.There was Glen and his buddy Nick which I later learned would be a nuisance.Shortly after Capt Greg arrived and gave the green light to begin boarding.I unloaded everything,coolers,2 batteries,battery charger,rods,tackle bag,sleeping gear.....etc.In the meantime some familiar faces joined the party Jarbas,Dominic,Bruce and I made a new friend "Mudhog".Mudhog is one country a$$ dude,funny too,he has a strong country accent and is a big fella,so u can only imagine.Anyway,we reach our takeoff time and begin the journey,After rigging all my rods and making deep drop rigs,I hit the sack around 1 A.M. Woke up about 6:45 am and began to troll along with 5 others,within 10 minutes my tiagra 50 was screaming and I took it up to the second floor where I was able to get the wahoo on plane and skip on the surface,I told everyone to reel in their lines so I won't get wrapped, and right behind the boat we had a solid 30lb wahoo skyrocket about 13 ft up and miss another angler Lure,that was amazing never seen one jump that high,well mines was way back and popped off so that was the end of wahoo madness till later on,we get to the fishing grounds about 9:30 am,and begin to drop down,now guys if I can recommend anything on this trip is to not deviate from the recommendations that are on the Yankee Capts website and if the capt asks u to do something a certain way just do it.We had guys dropping with 4lb leads when everyone else was using 2lbs and holding good with that lead,also we had another guy using a salmon rod that must have been 13 ft tall and flimsy as can be,**** thing was good to use as a mango net,anyways people all this does is tangle everyone else up and make for a bad time,back to the fishing the bite was non existent for a couple of hours then at around 12:30 it started to pick up and some fish started to come up,quality fish the first day but a little slow compared to what this place can provide.We caught 15-30lb barrel fish and ginormous queen snappers.My barrel fish ended up weighing 15lbs and my biggest queen was 18lbs.I saw 1 queen that was about 23lbs.I think everyone caught a queen on this trip.

Later on a wahoo was caught trolling
So at about 8pm we head to fish shallower in about 130ft,now this is all drift fishing,anchoring is not allowed.I learned how to bottom fish on drift boats out of Haulover,fl so I can say I was comfortable,I saw many others were having a hard time so they went to bed,anyways I ended up catching 5 muttons between 8-12 lbs,many BIG red groupers were caught as well,the only thing we missed out on was on the hot tuna bite that we usually get out here,I had been on 2 previous trips out here and on both we were infested with the blackfins,not the case here.Sunrise came upon us Wednesday and we headed back towards the deep drop,we caught allot more fish the second time around ,if the first day would have been like the second this would have been a truly epic trip,but none the less we caught a crap load of fish same suspects snowies,grey tiles ,queens yellow edge grouper,fire back groupers,Warsaw groupers.........

Well that time came upon us and we heard that voice from above that we are done and pretty much full of fish it was 8:30pm.Both white boxes and both blue boxes were full and for 16 anglers that means we did very well,I went downstairs for some shut eye and woke up at 7:30am when the boat was arriving at the dock ,unloaded all my gear off the boat and into my truck and waited for the fish to be distributed

A special thanks to Capt Greg thanks for bringing us back safe and putting us on the fish.Thanks to the mates that work so hard specially with all the tangles,thank you Lynden,Matt and Johnny,I'm really glad to have Johnny back on he is a great mate and knows his *****,can't forget about the chef Joe,thank you all.Ohh and for those of you that were wondering about the weather

All I can say is if people listen to me trips would be shorter with more fish in their coolers. It is incredibly frustrating to see people struggle with junk gear and then complain about the catching. Remember folks you also screw it up for everyone when you don't fish correctly. Tangles mean less fishing time. Which equals less fish in your cooler. Rant over.

Actually he wasn't,but I say him dropping 5lbs of lead at one point when everyone else was using 2lbs!!!!
