This months worth of fishin'....so far

Had 2 friends come into town for the weekend. The plan was to fish Friday, Saturday and Sunday...and that's exactly what we did. Friday we headed out of Mullock Creek loaded up on pins and headed for the groves for some reds. We ended the day with 15 reds(20"-25"), 7 snook and how ever many jacks.

Saturday we Headed out of Mullock Creek and loaded up with pins just like the day before but the bite was slower. We ended the day with 8 reds(21'-25"), 6 snook(2 at 36-37") and jacks.

Got out this past Saturday with a old friend and we headed out of Mullock. Loaded up with way too much bait but I guess you can never have enough. We started south along the east wall lookin for reds. Upon our arrival I notice juvi tarpon rollin everywhere. So we drop the power pole just off the point so we can fish the groves for reds and the flat for tarpon. I got 1 juvi and he got 1 red. We moved north and caught 5 more reds, 6 snook and jacks.

A old fishin buddy came into town this week for family reasons. We headed out of mullock and loaded up the wells with pins and pilchards. Started south and caught snook. headed north and caught snook, mang snapper and jack. Moved to some docks and caught 6 snook but got pawned by 5 biggins. Ended the day with 16 snook, 2 mang snapper and jacks(no reds!).

    Great post.
My fishing plans have been ruined 2 days already this weekend. Took Friday off to go fishing and rained most of the day. Bummer.

Sucks you guys lost a few nice snook... this is the reason I bumped up my gear lately... drives me nuts coming home with 'the one that got away' stories.
Tarpon... everything else is just bait.

Beautiful healthy Fish. I need to learn how to better fish for reds and snook. I guess I need to stop chasing trout around the sandbars in the Bay and fish the shore lines?

I headed out yesterday in the rain with a buddy and his nephew. Is was a slow day with poor conditions. 4 reds, 6 snook, 2 mang snapper and 2 jack. The youngin' burned his finger on the braid when a big snook took his pin into the groves.

Binder, after reading your report my hopes were high for Sunday. I Left Mullock at 7 am by myself, off the water by noon. Terrible day for me, one small snook and a catfish. I worked the east wall from weeks to the north. Then some shorelines closer to the pass. Not only was it a parking lot out there, I just didn't see much, saw one red, half dozen small snook that didn't want to eat, and tons of sheepshead(seems they are showing up early). Took a peek into the back bay area around rocky bay but didn't see much life.

That's to bad 85. We noticed a good number of large sheepies cruising along the oysters. The other think is we had most of our success in the afternoon.
