Tasty redfish

I got really hungry while fishing for redfish, so as soon as I caught this little guy, I took a bite. It was really good, sort of like eating corn on the cob.

Actually, that's a prop scar. Gruesome to look at, but the wound seemed to be healed over. The fish fought pretty well for its size and swam away like nothing had happened.

Later in the morning, I got this 10-pounder.

A little while later, I hooked a black drum that was much larger than the redfish, but it spit the hook after a brief fight.

When I read the title, I thought, "Where in Hell did you find a slot redfish?" Are there more of that size around these days? Last time I fished the SW Florida coast, I caught hundreds of reds during the month of July. Of those, exactly 1 was under slot and 2 were in the slot. All the other fish were over slot.
