Breakaway Gear-Defiinition

FAC 68B-4.002 defines breakaway gear as something "designed to break off when a fish is caught". This is very vague to me. How does law enforcement define "designed to break off" in their enforcement of this rule. I can see a situation where I could use a device that I did not design to break off but the officer does not agree.

Sorry, did not realize "ask the law" was not FWC. Does anyone know if FWC has a forum for questions?

You can ask, but I've never gotten an answer back.
