Everglades Tarpon Fishing

I love lobster but I really love fishing when there is no one else to be seen the whole day!

Yesterday I fished Everglades National Park with good friend Captain Jeff Beeler, Huntinator Charters.

There were several schools of large traveling tarpon. We only got one to eat. Then we moved to the flats where we found hundreds of juvenile tarpon that remained on the flat for hours. It is hypnotizing to watch them roll and not even notice the boat, so awesome. We were catching them on soft plastics and fly, live bait for the larger tarpon.

The water temps were very hot! I am surprised the little guys even stay so shallow. A few redfish were seen but no snook.

Ah heaven! This is my favorite time of year to fish, low boat traffic and the dinks are just so dang fun to catch.
