Redfish action at St. Marks

Taking advantage of the three day Memorial Day weekend with my buddy from work, we decided to hit one of my favorite spots out of The St. Marks Lighthouse. We got to the boat ramp around 8:45am and headed to our spot. We fished for an hour with no luck. We figured we would fish until around 10am to let a little more of the tide come in and then head to another spot where I had caught fish before. So, about 10am and a little more water, we headed to the spot, eased into the area and within minutes I had locked up with a 23" redfish on a topwater plug. After landing that redfish, we then hooked up with another, this time a 29" redfish that gave me one of my best ever redfish fights. For the next 2 hours we were in solid redfish. We ended up keeping our limit with 3 of them being perfect tournament fish. A little after lunch we called it a day and headed to the hill. All total we landed 15 redfish with successful releases. A great Memorial Day weekend trip and one we will never forget.
