That depth places you in about 18-25 miles out.

WE RUN ANYWHERE BETWEEN 30-35 MILES OUT FROM PUNTA RASSA. THESE AJ'S LIKE BLUERUNNERS ON LIGHT LINE / LEADER. THEY TEND TO WRAP YOU AROUND YOUR ANCHOR ROPE SO THE FIGHT IS RAW AND YOU NEED TO STAY ON YOUR FEET WORKING IT AROUND THE BOAT NOT TO LOOSE THE FISH. BEAST ANIMALS MAN! THEY ARE POUND FOR POUND ONE OF THE HARDEST FIGHTERS OUT THERE.

Aj's are not very shy fish, you can do with 60lb leaders. Free-lining works great but to really get them going a 6oz weight on a carolina rig to get them down 30-40 feet and they will chew anything there up. Also, when getting ready to bring them boat side, have a rod ready as they always come with a few more fish checking out the hooked one.
