4/25 IRL, 4/26 Seb River, 4/28 IRL

Friday. The day that I thought would never arrive finally arrived. A day with no school, work, clinicals, or any other obligations, and no wind, it was glorious. I got a little later start then I wanted, but was on the flat by 7:00. There was an amazing amount of bait around, from nice small minnows, to some of the largest mullet I have seen. It didn't take too long till I drifted up on a culvert that had some flowing water. I managed to pull two decent trout out of there, before I moved on. Shortly after that I hooked up with a couple small reds, nothing special, but they tugged. As I was landing the second one I felt my phone vibrate, I figured it was my wife asking how the fishing was, No. It was a co worker asking if I was coming in to cover for someone. FRICK, I thought that was next friday. OK, so much for today. I head to work for an hour and a half by the time I get off the water and home to change. Work was boring, and slow enough that there was no need for me to be there, but oh well. I still had the boat hooked up, and it was still windless enough to head back out with the wife who was also off work by now. We stayed till the sun was down, despite being eaten alive by the bugs. She landed two small reds, neither of which were picture worthy. I managed two more trout and a couple reds, including one that was less then a foot off the shore, and feeding aggressively, he finally gave me a shot, and I swear he inhaled my twitch bait before it even hit the water, it was awesome. All in all it was a great day.

Cookie Cutter red from the morning.

Best fishing partner around, even if she does annoy me at times. There is nothing I would trade for her.

Lastlight Red, he was the one right off the shore. I will always remember this fish.

Saturday found me headed south to the Sebastion River way to late in the day and way too early for the evening bite, but thats just the way it happened after dropping Ashley off with my sister to go paddle boarding. I scouted around, and saw lots of activity, and fished to a couple Tarpon for a couple hours, and think I got bit a couple times, but had a knot/line failure on one, and the other the hook never found any flesh. I left with my tail between my legs, and only two catfish to keep the skunk off the boat. I will be back though. Since I was by myself and there was nothing to show but catfish, there will be no pictures.

Monday. Met up with a buddy from school at 6:15 and decided it was light enough to start meeting at 6:00. We got to our destination ASAP. We were in to fish almost instantly. Today was the first day that I can honestly say I lost count of how many fish I caught since this last summer on the beach. It was awesome, Reds and Trout, and they where on the small side of big on up to over slot. I think we only caught two fish that were under slot, and one that was just over. None of the fish were tailing, and 90% of them were caught while blind casting, and just like always they were all caught on artificials, and released to fight again. The icing on top of the cake was out fishing my buddy who has lived here his whole life. You can say I am a bit competitive, and I wouldn't be able to argue.

This is the only picture of a fish from today, but he was a STUD, and definitely the largest Red I have caught on a flat.
