Ponce 4/26

Left earlier than normal to beat tournament traffic and get out fishing.....NOAA missed the forecast as expected...1-2 was 3-5 by the time we got out to 180', just sloppy, trolled around scattered weeds most of the day, all the way out to 500', lost I would guess a 40lb Bull due to the reel getting knocked out of gear as it was being picked up, backlashed and broke the30 lb line like it was 2lb....watched him jump probably 5-6 times with our skirt in tow....:banghead...did manage to pick off a bull and cow, bull was 32lbs....since trolling was so slow and we brought the electrics just in case, did some drops over the steeples, 1 snowy, 11 red porgies and a vermillion. Went back trolling to...lost another 15lber due to line breaking, same pole, I think it might have frayed when it was backlashed.....ended the day with the boootom fish and 4 mahi up to 32.....should have entered the KOTI, top Mahi was 27.6:banghead....go boarded by marine patrol on way back up the intercoastal...emptied the fish box and looked in every nook and crany..gave us a warning ticket for expired flairs...then finished up by blowing a trim and tilt line at the dock....overall good day but the missed fish, crap forecast and broken line took some of fun out of it...
