SI offshore 4/27

Broke the inlet at 7:00 and seas were flat. Spoke to friends and read forum reports so I knew I wanted to run deep. Lake Atlantic was great. Ran at 26 knots SE and dropped lines at 410 ft. Had knock downs but no takers at 600-800ft, must have been small. Found multiple large weed patches. Where able to pick one peanut that was a keeper. Many others just under 20". Son had fun bending a pole, even hooked into two sharks that he was all about catching. Continued out for 2 additional mahi in the box caught around 1000ft. Worked our way back to inlet had 2 more knockdowns and lost a nice size bull at the boat in about 650ft. Spit the hook that flew into my buddy's sunglasses. Personal challenge to go back out and find him now.....Nice day. Bite was never hot but consistant all day. Hopefully they will work a little shallower so we don't need to run so far. Hope this helps.
