Overnighter 2/22-2/23

decided to make a 55-60mileish run on sat afternoon and spend the night, get some fishing in during early am and then head in. Seas were beautiful, some decent rollers but other than that nice, not much wind. Netted all of our bait at the skyway, very nice bait right now, turned around after throwing the net and was hit with a wall of fog. Ran out and got stopped about 20 miles out by a boat in distress so we stopped, luckily towboat was coming through the fog, even though they were in distress they didn't hesitate to show us a 25lb Blackfin tuna that they just caught. Made it out to our spot, anchored up and decided to crash the night there after pretty quick hookups late night, early am, my buddy hit something big, over the gunnel it came after it put him to the gunnel a couple times approx. 55lbs. my lip scale bottomed out before it broke and that was about 55ish. unfortunately it was my catch, we then caught a few mangos, a few bee liners, and the wind picked up some and got a little cool, seemed like a cold front sat right on top of us, next day we must have hit a dozen different spots, from 145 into 80, and just couldn't seem to locate the fish, ended the day anchored up catching some mangos and came on in. Tough day fishing for sure, just couldn't seem to find them, well that's fishing, but oh well, good night hanging out with some good fishing buddies out on some beautiful seas, can't ask for much more than that! ended with 2 red groups, 10 mangs, 5 bee's porgie, grunt and that hefty AJ
