More SE Alabama Deer Hunting

The big bucks started chasing does in the last 3 days. One of the guys took this one less than 5 minutes behind a big doe. :beer

Awesome! I hope to see some real rut activity this weekend.

This season has been rough on me. I haven't got much chance to hunt but when I do its all does and spikes. I guess it is better than nothing.

Here is to hoping everyone kills a biggn this weekend! :crossed

    Nice!!

We had a rough year at our club in central AL. Weekend weather didn't seem to cooperate as we needed it. And, it seemed like the deer never went into rut real good...........just a strange hunting season all around this year. I'm glad it's over.......this will be the first weekend I've been home in over a month. Ready for warmer weather & fishing!!

I'm about to head that way! Should be good.

Birds just now stirring and overcast all day.

A little ice here, but nothing like folks in Pensacola got.

I think the warm weather is going to be good this weekend for the river. Im gonna try and hit the river swamp. When its real cold they tend to push out toward the pine stands out of the swamp. I go if I get half a chance. I would love to sit PW one more time this year but I dont think that is going to happen.

I'm going to hunt a high ground clear cut looking 170 yards into a food plot where mare pines and young pines with thick under brush. Lots of edge to monitor, two stands of pine and a food source at their convergence. Given time of year and temps, it could be magical.

Just hang onto it till next time, or keep it, or I'll trade you a bag of chili to mail it. ;-)

Clearing skies off to west, humidity dropping and wind easing. Two hours of light left. Could be good. I bet tomorrow would be great. I can probably pull off am or pm, but not both. Would like to do an all day hunt tomorrow, though.

Had a spike just about hump my ladder stand. Then had a a little later a deer wind me. Never saw it but it had gotten real close before busting me. Probably a doe with bull Winkle behind her... That would be my luck.

Think I'm going to hunt that same stand this pm

I seen 11 yesterday coming home from work. It looks like they are on their feet in the evenings. Good luck to you. I hope to get out there Saturday.
