It started out as a nice calm day on the waters of southwest Florida out of Marco Island. Stopped at a local spot to get our pinfish and bluerunners then off we ran to our first stop 40 miles away. Nightfly was and always seems to get his bait into the waters first and within seconds the fight was on. After about a 15 minute battle and a little sweat coming off his face he brought his first of many AJ's onto the boat. The cobia were all around us but we could not get our bait near them with those pesky AJ's stealing the show. Our biggest AJ of the day went in at about 50lbs. With Nightfly, Slackdaddy and myself tiring from Aj's we switched over to getting some large Yellowtail. Sharks gave us some trouble but we overcame them by giving a few more AJ's a chance to eat with the hopes of a cobia but all we got were tired and sore muscles. The sea was now at easy 4 footers from the East but we didn't care. We had fish in the cooler and a tired crew on board.
