First Red on fly

Hey guys. Took my girlfriend fishing yesterday on the Manatee river just east of Bradenton. Fishing was slow with my spinning outfit so I pulled out my fly rod and caught this little guy on the second cast (just blind casting).9u9ypyvu.jpg
He wasn't the biggest but my first on fly and was pretty cool. Caught him on an EP fly my girlfriend tied the night before, and she doesn't even fly fish. vypyruhu.jpgJust likes tying them. She did catch a nice 25" red an hour later on a jerk bait. 8azyjy7y.jpg
Only two fish but was a pretty good day. Weather was awesome.

Well done, & thanks for sharing. She does tie good looking flys.

Nice job Evan! That photo with the fly hanging out of the fish's mouth looks like it just ate a squirrel!

Glad you posted a photo of the fly your gf made to clear that up for me... :wink She does great work!
