Inshore - September to Remember 2013 (pic heavy)

September is probably the month where I find my optimism at its highest. The redfish just seem to eat like crazy and they school up in places all over the Sound, Matlache, and the Bar. I hit all these places and have just now started to hang some really good Snook...I am going to post some pics but first let me say that the bait situation has been really good for shiners up in the Northern end of the Sound, not so much for me in the Southern end. Big pin fish are all over and I just sliced em' up rather than worry about it......I have caught fish on every stage of the tides lately, early late and mid incoming, as well as all stages of the outgoing. When they are eating, it doesnt seem to matter. I havent spent as much time wading this year as in years past. Ive been posting up and soaking baits. The fresh water run off has affected the Southern end of the Sound IMO....

Same with this snook....another cut pinfish......under a cork no less.....just minutes after I caught the one above...we added a nice 26.5 inch redfish on the day.

Forum member Amuleopard with a cool redfish he caught while pot hole fishing w/ me this month. He is a really interesting guy and a very skilled fisherman. Very generous and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my time with him....

Best fish of the day for me on this day....a solid 31 inches......cut pinfish.....off a long sand bar......

And these next few fish came on a day that turned out to really be a lot of fun....there were some fish on a bar and the ate really well one late afternoon.....if not for some nasty weather coming in I think I would have stayed until dark....

Those fish ate so well that I went back 3 days later for a few hours and again they hammered baits till the weather ran Redfish57 and I off......

It was an excellent September and since I dont fish on Sundays and rarely during the week my 9 month of fishing is over. I can only hope that most of you had the opportunity to fish this month.....if you did, Im sure you ran into some fish as well. I thank the LORD for safe passage, great friends, wisdom, and fish caught. Its great to be able to fish with people and enjoy HIS creation.
