Half day trip

Yesterday I tool Ralph and his wife on a half day trip. They are both are good inshore fisherman/woman but half very little experience on the reef and beyond.

The mission was to get Ralph's wife on some good bottom fish. After picking up bait from Pedro and Frank of Ashley Live Bait we headed South. First spot was in 110 feet, zero current, keap moving South about 4 miles to the second spot in 70 feet, zero current, third spot was another 3 or 4 miles South in 80 feet still zero current. At this point I decided to go deeper and hit one of my old spots in 150 feet. There we found good current and the finder was marking fish on the bottom. We fished this spot for about an hour and a half when a nasty storm chased us out.

Final Tally

2 Muttons
2 Atlantic Sharp Nose Sharks (Released)
2 Porgies
1 Yellowtail

We lost 1 nice fish to the sharks and 2 other just came unglued.
