Raw water pump- need advice

My raw water pump runs but no water comes through the hose. I figured something went wrong with the pump so I replaced the old pump(9 years old). I hit the switch, you can hear the pump running but no water. And suggestion on where to look?

Is it going the right way? Blockage in the intake/outflow lines?

Try to prime it with the water hose.

Those wash-down pumps usually don't require any priming. Are you sure you wired it correctly? The motor might be running backward. Also, disconnect the intake hose and force water backwards with a garden hose. Might have a clog in the intake hose. Does it have a seacock? Is it open? Is the connection to the pump from the intake hose tight? If it's sucking air, it won't prime.

Appreciate everyone input, I finally had a chance to dig into it and it turned out to be a blockage in the out take line. There was one connection between the out take line and the actual hose form the pump. Cleared it and it all worked.

So the old pump is still good? Don't throw it away, find a use for it.
