Insane AR bite - thursday offshore CW

Finally got a chance to go get some ARs thursday - cant believe I almost missed the season

We met at 5am and went to the bridge for bait - it was scarce , got around 30 scaled with a few lady fish.
So we headed out to CW tripod got some pins, grunts and headed to an area 52 miles out.

On the way out we spotted a shrimp boat with the crew on deck - tuna maybe?? no luck they had just got there and planned to pull Thursday /fri night - Dam!

Got to the spot , anchored up and put down frozen sardines, squid..they didnt make it to the bottom - all 4 hooked up instantly.
Got our limit of 8 in 15 minutes - tried to keep the biggest - I don't think we caught any under 8 lbs , biggest around 18lbs.

For the next 2 hours it was non stop AR and AJs. Brandon even got to catch a few on fly rod!

Decided to hit a spot for mangos in 100 ft . Got them chummed up nicely and started to catch them but then sharks in the 3-4 ft range showed up . Did get a nice BF on scaled sardine!

Depth - 110-115 fT
Temp - 82
seas - less than 2
Current - nice south to north

biggest AR was caught on chicken rig with frozen sardine

Great day and crew !
