Need an area to take some grandkids fishing

I am going to be visiting my grandkids on the 4th of July for one day only and they would like to go fishing. I am not bringing the boat so need a spot or 2 I can take them with some dead/live shrimp that they might be able to catch something besides catfish :grin

They live in South Titusville area and was thinking about Kelly Park or Jetty park but not sure if you can still fish those areas off the bank or not. Has been a LONG time since I have banked fish down in that area. Anyone have any info or spots tips etc? The grandkids are 6-9-12 yrs old. 1 boy and 2 girls.

I don't really need a good fishing spot as much as I need a good spot to be able to take these kids to wet a line. :grin

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Yes, Kelly park and jetty park are still open. Use small pieces of FRESH shrimp (smelly shrimp and old shrimp attracts catfish) on small hooks and a light sinker, and you can catch all kinds of fish like pinfish, croaker, whiting, flounder ect..... I have even caught reds like this... Good luck and have fun!!

If you can get ahold of live shrimp, then those are better, and you have more of a chance at getting into gamefish like trout and reds. Fishing in the river will probably be faster paced with more fish caught, but jetty park is nice too. Just be careful of the rocks.

Thanks Fishboy! Do they still allow you to pull off the causeway there and fish under the causeway? Referring to the area just past or to the east of Kelly Park.

You can still park on the side of the road.
