well havent post in a while,mainly because havent been catching!!!!
well the month of may changed all that,my boy Poolman got a new to him 266 worldcat so the bottomfish slaying started comencing,
first trip 8 mangroves 2-8# with yours truley catching half the fish for the boat(3 on board) and pulling the 2 biggest
second trip not so many grovers but 5 grovers to 10#'s with me catching and 8# and one bigger i didnt weigh till the next day after being on ice overnight and was over 9#'s on boga grip
well the next trip was the bomb,for most people the first 2 trips were spectacular!!!!
well fish the same area as first 2 trips with a cousin who ive been texting pics to for the past 2-3 weeks,they came down to ft pierce for vacation from Lake Helen area with there boat for me to show them the ropes,for they mainly troll and bottomfish for mangroves in the keys where in shallow water a 3-4 lber was good catch
the day started off super slow **** fish on every spot then found the mother load spot anchored up,
with my cousin mentioning that she chked the fishing almanac and said the bite would be best from 2-4pm!!
i said that **** isnt worth a crap!!!!!!
boy did she prove me wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hooked 6 fish landed 4 of them broke 2 off using straight 80# line and leader
tally for day was 6,10,and 12+lb mangroves and a 14# gag grouper!!!!!!!
boy did i eat crow that day on the almanac subject!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
