Micco - Grant

I went down to yacht club ramp this AM and it looked like an agitating washing machine. Drank some coffee and considered my options. I had been south and water was generally not pretty. Adam (DuPont)had said the water up in Mel beach was clean so I opted to go north of the inlet and look around. Wind was really hootin' even in the pre dawn grey. First spot was a miscalculation...too shallow and was nearly beached by wind and waves. Next spot is a wind shadow and it produced a little red and a little trout. The next spot had cleaner water and after a bit I saw a couple fish...a few what looked to be slot Snook that would not eat the jig. A little further down wind I got this guy.

It was just shy of 24 inches...It fought good but scared all the other fish off the flat.

The next spot had some nice fish...I threw to a real nice trout...but I threw to the wrong end...:banghead...but when he took off...a little red of about 17 inches must have thought that my jig looked good and ate it. Had a few refusals and figured to quit early...

Next spot...this guy...

That's not much of a snook...but it is slam #12

Was planning to quit at 9:30...hit one more spot...got another small snook...and headed in.

Yeah, When I was at Yacht club I almost turned for home and mowed the lawn ( F that! :wink )

It's suppose to be the same crazy wind tomorrow...may go try the 'Poons up the Seb river...or go work further north...Mel beach area.

Are they starting to show up there yet? I went 2 weeks ago to check it out on the North Fork and saw nothing besides 3 gators.
