4/27 Homosassa 30' offshore

Left Macs at 9:45am headed out 20 miles to 30' of water in my KW 17'2 CC took our time and arrived at our #'s around 11ish. Water temp was 75 and 1-2 ft rollers. We were using 1oz jig heads with nuclear chicken 5" jerk shads, threw out the chum bag and started catching grunts and cut some for bait and it was Gag city, 13 gags landed and released, they all ranged from 24-31 inches. Caught one 24" Red grouper which is pictured for dinner. During all of this catching going on we forgot to put the shrimp bucket in the water and wouldn't you know 10 minutes later a 35-38 inch cobe showed up 20 feet behind the boat headed right to the shrimp bucket, funny how the chum bag being in the water for hours didn't bring him in, I had 5 throws with a ml top dog and it would half bite but not commit. We left around 4pm for a wet ride back in, but a hell of a day on the water.
