  Aw now Mike, why ya gotta brang common sense on here. Heck, did you see the shoot out with the Boston Marathon Bomber? Must've been 20 LEO's emptying their service weapons, and still they didn't get the perp (kill him).

  i dont see a need for hi cap if i were in that position.
  even in uspsa, i use single stack limited.
  
  everytime he squeezed the trigger he flinches. he should go to the range more, perhaps he cna hit cneter mass at 7 yards.
  use 1911 and corbon rounds, it destroys everything , lol.

  one of my instructors was a former Chicago police officer that was shot 3 times with a .45 in a gunfight and did not even know it till after the PCP powered perp was getting wheeled away with 47 rounds in him.
  
  nothing short of a head shot with a rifle is a sure thing

  Im sure someone breaks into your house and you have your wife and kids there you are going to remain cool and collected just like shooting at the range. Get with it man, 99% of people in a scenario like that are going to perform like its a life or death situation not like its the range. Hands shaking, scared to death, whatever.
  
  No offense intended by the way, I just think that everyone has this internet ego that tells them "Id be rock steady and hit center mass"... truth is most of us have no idea how we'd perform in that situation.

  One of the early videos I remember seeing is the Timothy McVey get away. The police officer pulled over their vehicle and approached the passenger side door.
  The guy gets out with a pistol and starts shooting at the policemen less than 10 feet away. The officer pulls his service weapons and starts throwing lead from
  the same distance. Not one round or two, but several rounds from each person. NOBODY was hit and he got in the vehicle and escaped. From less than 10
  feet away!!!!!!!!!

  The peanuts and beer took its toll. I had to fart really bad. I would normally ease away and let it out. I thought it was time for her to grow up.
  It was a varoooom! It shook the pine needles off the trees. She broke and ran.

  She's my best buddy to this day! You never know how these things will work out!

  remember the guy that went inside the courthouse or was it a meeting?
  he went in, pulled his gun, started shooting and didnt hit anyone at point blank?
  
  i have no doubt those guys go to the range, like every other average joe. they go there and shoot bullseye- stand, take their time to shoot and often times close one eye, squeeze the trigger then flinch. maybe the shoot 500 rounds a year?

  Most courses of fire in IDPA matches fall into this format. IDPA is based on “defensive shooting” and therefore the match designers try to simulate scenarios where you would be forced into using your gun to defend your life or others. Common stages found in matches involve you being caught in a convenience store robbery, a home invasion, car jacking, ATM/bank robbery and more. Many scenarios are drawn from newspaper and TV reports. Others are drawn form the stage designer’s imagination in which worst case scenarios are encountered while performing ordinary, everyday tasks or errands.
  
  Self defense stages will find you having to engage targets from awkward or difficult positions. You might find yourself having to engage targets from inside a car or from beside it, having to move from point to point while shooting, jumping up from a recliner or bed during a “home invasion” or shooting while seated. The possibilities change with every match. You might not even draw from a holster although that comprises the majority of the stages you will see. You could draw your gun from a glove box, a nightstand drawer, under a counter or from a bag or case. All of this combines to keep theses stages unique and challenging for each match.
