This is totally my personal opinion, but I gotta throw it out there. Quantum cabo PTS reels are the business. It will spank any reels even close to its price range. Itll spank Penns and Shimanos allll day long(any model). I know, I know, im going to get blasted by penn and shimano lovers-but its the truth. I have 4 of them now. I got one of the 20's for a gift and used it for like 5 years DAILY, and it never missed a beat. It got stolen, and when I didnt have my go-to reel I was miserable. I swore I would never fish another reel. They are a POWERHOUSE! Its a big reel in a little reels body. They are slightly heavier-but if your rod is a good fit(balance)-then it shouldnt bother you. Seriously though, if you have never used one of these reels, and your a serious fisherman-your missing out. If you do buy one-all of your reels are going to be stuffed in the closet. They are a little pricy, but you wont regret it. One of their 40's would bring in cobia nicely-a 60 series? Pssshh youll be reeling him with ease....their drag on them is astronomical
- If you can get your hands on a PTS 20, which they dont make anymore, load it with 30lb powerpro and its a jig flipping machine....

Same here. I'll never buy another quantum, no matter how much they try to make it look like a daiwa.
That's funny. Even Penn is taking on the looks of Daiwa. I love my Daiwas and getting acquainted with my new Quantum 40 which is so far so good. I will never buy another Shaitmano.

Were they the Cabo PTS series? I cant really say about any of their other reels, just those in particular...
I think with everyones opinions vs yours I think ill shy away from quantums from now on lol XD no offense

The old ones sucked there's no denying it, and the new ones are too new to tell, simple as that, no offense but your one experience doesn't mean everyone who says quantum sucks only uses their low end crap.
one experience? Ive used almost every brand known. I fish minimal 3-4 times a week and have used tons of different reel and rod setups. Im just saying the reels are **** and ive never had a problem with them. Ever. Ever. Ive probably purchased at least ten of them. I did say it was my opinion, everyone is entitled to theirs. I just havent put a reel in my hand yet that was better...jesus Quantum needs to pay me, sitting here pushing their product...im not saying someone out there didnt buy one and it was a total POS, but hey that happens with anything. You could buy a brand new flatscreen, top of the line, and plug that sucker in and it blows a puff of smoke-theres always gonna be a lemon in the mix

Your one experience meaning you are one person, if you're happy with your reels I'm happy for you. I'm still experimenting but so far my stradics have done the best, I am looking forward to the new cabo though.
I have bought ten because im a smart puppy. I currently have 4. I buy the PTS 20's when I can find them, use the hell out of them and then sell them. Quantum fans will buy every 20 PTS you can find... I have 3 20's and a 30....I sold 2 to guys fishing the El Cheapo
