Guns to Bahamas- Any new rules?

Cajun MartyniCajun Martyni Posts: 57 Deckhand
We've always taken 2-3, declared them and never had a problem. Rifles, pistols, shotguns. Didn't seem to matter. I was just looking at a website regarding their new fishing regulations and saw more detail on guns. They say that handguns and shotguns are okay. Does that mean that rifles are not? Planning to leave Sunday for a couple of nights in more remote areas. I have a 308 that I bought for trips like this. Anyone know if it's okay to bring it, now?

I cleared a month ago with a 223 and 45... No issue at all... Still here and customs office about a hundred feet away . They said nothing...

as long as you clear them.. (list them, model, serial number, caliber and number of rounds) you are good. You are supposed to also have them under lock and key on the boat somehow and not to take them off the boat out and about with you.
