PSA: Nikkor Lenses - Instant rebates

Nikkor is running a big promo the next couple of weeks.

Looking to flesh out your lens kit? Some OK, deals here.

I might consider one of the prime lenses.

Some travel zooms, the current 70-200 and 80-400 are on the list too.

Am comparing the 18-300 with the 28-300 and must be missing something. The 28-300 msrp is more than the 18-300. The "rebate" is higher on the 18-300 than the 28-300. Is there a weight advantage to the 28-300 or something else I am missing. I presently have a 70-300 4.5/5.6G Nikon VR along with a couple of nikon kit lens that I had with my D40. Thinking of selling my 70-300 and picking up the 18-300 or 28-300.

Ok. I think I see it now. The 18-300 is a DX format and the 28-300 is an FX. Since I am using a D200 which has the DX type sensor, it wouldn't matter which lens unless I later upgraded my body only to an FX type sensor. Am I on the right track? Opinions appreciated.
