Captiva-Late February; Bringing a '19 flats boat. Will it be tarpon time?

I am coming over from the Orlando area and bringing a '19 Action Craft/175 hp for three days. Should I bring heavier equipment for tarpon? I have never caught one!

If you leave the tarpon rod at home you can be sure to see some. Tarpon love nothing more than to catch you without the right gear.

Highly unlikely. There may be a few early fishing milling around in the upper reaches of the harbor if it remains warm, and we get an influx of threads and white bait up there. Late March and through April is a different story.........
