Blue Crab Cakes

hows everyone doing today?? awhile ago I made these incredibly delicious crab cakes that had me and my family in heaven for a few minutes haha :grin
here's the list of ingredients, regarding the crab meat, the recipe I found suggested 1 pound of store bought crab meat, which in my opinion is frowned upon, I prefer to catch the crabs myself.
1-1.5 pounds of crab meat
8 saltine crackers
1 scrambled egg
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
1 tsp of mustard
1/2 tsp of worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
dash of salt
2 tbsp of olive oil.
the very first step if you caught the crabs yourself are to extract all the meat out of them, in the claws, body, where ever, completely clean out the crab of its flesh, don not cook it, crabs must be raw when this is done.
next take all the ingredients except the crab meat and grind them in a food processor.
once all the meat has been extracted gently mix the crab meat with the other ingredients in a large bowl and form patties.
I forgot to mention this earlier, but I coated my cakes with bread crumbs to make them a little crispy, this is optional though.
then in a pan, pour in about a cup of olive oil and heat, when oil begins to heat put in the cakes and let them cook. flip from time ti time making sure it cooks evenly on both sides and not burning, after only a few minutes they should be done, delicious! and ready to have a party in your stomach, enjoy!!

    Nice.

Removing meat before cooking crabs? New to me. I boil em whole and then pick em.

First weekend of crab catching this year it was 6 crab cakes (hamburger sized, now).

Next weekend was crab cakes Friday night, and then west indies for dinner on Monday.

Then last Sunday it was fried crab, crab cake appetizer, and then cream crab sauce over panko fried red grouper for dinner.

I think we're going back to crab cakes tonight. I sometimes forget about these little guys. Once you remember how to pick em, they really are worth it!

Some pics from the past few crab pickin sessions...

Had crab cakes this Past Monday... and they were the best yet. I might should have made it like a 9.25 / 10. Made them a bit smaller than the ones pictured and I got away from the recipe a little bit. I have JUST about perfected it.

Look delicious, gonna have to try them sometime. I usually just stick to the ole fashion cooking them whole and picking them clean, but ill definately try those out.
