The POTUS dog and pony show...

Nothing but higher taxes, no spending cuts - and he's blah blah blah with the same old rhetoric and accusations already trying to get ahead of the blame game.

More revenue for more spending - brought to you by our socialist in chief and his idiot minions at another campaign rally in a never ending campaign.

All he wants is higher taxes for the rich so he can redistribute it.

We deserve better than this googan, than all these googans.

So he wants tax increases that will do effectively nothing except open the door for more tax increases in the future and no cuts in spending (in fact he already has proposed new spending using the current tax increases)

Are you stupid or do you not see a problem with his credibility here. :huh

He has NO interest in solving any problems at all, by this point that much is very evident. What he seems to be most interested in is doing political damage to his opponents at the expense of the country. Its unbelievable and quite frankly a little sad/frightening.

That really doesn't make any sense. Why does Lady Liberty have the Obama logo on her? That doesn't seem to fit in with the overall statement of this particular piece. I eagerly await your explanation.

I think it was just a stunt to get tax hikes. The "rich" first, then the "well off" then anyone who actually pays taxes. The democrats are now deeply invested in keeping the gravy train rolling to their constituents at any cost.

    You guys are truly confused

Bush's tax cuts are expiring. Obama nor the Democrats in congress are trying to raise taxes. They are trying to keep the taxes of 98% of Americans from rising.

The Republicans on the other hand are holding up the entire show just to protect the 1%ers. Proves the republican party cares nothing for America other than the billionaires club.

As for Spending cuts, I have heard nothing from the republicans about spending cuts. They are much too busy trying to protect the ones who own them. The billionaires club.

    but the cuts are coming.

then you are clueless to the work that went on to make Y2K a non event. I worked hard in 11 school districts to update their systems. In our tests all lunch room funding and all library books outstanding would be gone without the updates. Others would have lost all consistent student record over the turn. I don't do the COBOL updates but OS patches on the AS400, NEtware and winders servers.

Not sure what the big deal is with Obama lying and stalling, he promised wealth redistribution before the campaigns but just because he avoided it to get elected twice doesn't mean it's not one of the dreams from his father. He's found just what fake daddy wanted.

They way I read it... the GOP is delaying anything, because once the "cliff" is crossed and the Bush rates expire, THEN they can agree in compromise with Obama, and say they voted to "lower" rates. As opposed to doing something last week, and voting to "increased" rates. News says there is a new deal in the works right now, Obama won't get the $250K and over threshold he wants, will settle for the $400K theshold ($450 for joint filers).

You just can't co-opt a universal symbol like that to take a swing at the President. That is not only a cheap shot to the office of President, but to the entire concept of American Liberty. I guess there is no low you will not stoop to, if you think you can take a swing at Obama.

Why are you obsessed with stock dividends? Everyone with a 401 or any type of retirement plan will pay more. A lot of seniors depend on dividends to supplement SS. It's not just the rich that own stock. Are you paying income rates on your interest income? It's the same thing.

The rumor mill says the deal looks like a return to Clinton tax rates. I too, would like to see the capital gains rates eliminated, and treat all dollars equally.

Because the image (very appropriate) of Barry sucking the very life out of this nation is a better tool to show what is happening.

    Why?

What makes the earnings of hedge fund and private equity managers different than the earnings of you or I?

If you keep an investment less than a year, you pay normal income rates. If you hold stocks for the long term, how do you figure income, giving the ups & downs? you pay a lesser rate upon the sale. If you eliminate the long term rates, what happens to your house. are you taxed on yearly appreciation or only on the profit at the sale. The long term rates benefit the investors and the specvulators still pay income rates. All commodity trades are considered regular income. You're looking to hurt the middle income folks, not the super rich. And as I've said before, the super rich aren't going to pay more. that's why they have accountants and attorneys.
