I'm taking the canoe up to the mosquito lagoon on thursday night and plan to fish one spot hard all day. im thinking to go to Eddy creek and stay out of the wind on the east side, but if the wind subsides i plan to move out on the open flat including whale tail. I'm staying in a hotel on cheney hwy. i was thinking of taking highway 50 out to those dirt roads to connect to playalinda or is that just for the space center? any other ways to go? any pointers would be much appreciated.

You want to take Highway 50 to US1 N then make a right on Garden ST/406...follow that over the giant bridge and your heading toward the beach/refuge...pretty simple from there. Bring 5$ cash to pay the launch fee.
There are other places to launch on the opposite side of the goon...bio lab, beacon 42, WSEG....all can be seen on this link...scroll north of biolab to see beacon 42 and wseg...they are approx 3-5 miles north of biolab.
biolab

Also if you are launching a canoe w/o a trailer you can launch off several spots on biolab road that goes further south in the lagoon parallel to eddy creek.
If you are going to fish 1 area hard and it's a weekday i'd suggest launching out of Beacon 42 ramp and heading about 3/4 mile north and straight across to the tiger shoal area....its a poll an troll zone that is fished heavily on the weekends but should be nice to fish on a thursday. Make sure you give guides their space and read up on the refuge rules. (look for the 6-8ft pvc poles)
