Local Offshore Help

Very seldom do I venture north of Everglades City to Ft Myers area with my boats. But next week looks like a few friends and I are going to make a run out of St James City to try and hit the gags before the season closes. We are going to launch out of St James City marina on Monday and run out of Sanibel. Anyone tell me about how deep we need to run before we should get to productive grouper areas. I will pull the public numbers of course and run to those, but just looking for depths that have been producing quality fish. I am glad to trade help with anyone for my area in the 10K islands and Everglades. Thanks for the help.

Thanks to the red tide around here, that's a very good question. There have been very few reports around here. Gags could be in the passes or out to 90 feet.

Thats about what I was figuring. I am still hopeful that we are going to get out, but the weather keeps changing for Monday with more wind forcasted each time I look. If we make it out I will be sure to get a report on here.
