Please consider joining us this evening and join us in our fight for clean water and healthy estuaries. As
Indian Riverkeeper, I am part of the Waterkeepers Alliance, a world wide organization dedicated to clean water and healthy ecosystems everywhere. I am totally dependent upon membership, and donations for our program to survive, and as such need your help and support. I am not beholden to any entity other the the Indian River lagoon. I am active in promoting clean water, and education our citizens as to how serious the issues are to Indian river lagoon, and the St. Lucie Estuary. I am YOUR watchdog and collect information from volunteers, and organizations to help me keep an eye on things. As sportsmen/women you are the greatest eyes and assets an advocate could ask for. To be successful, you must be ecologically aware. My Mission Statement
"The mission of the Indian Riverkeeper is to protect and restore the waters of North America's most diverse estuary, the Indian River Lagoon, its tributaries, fisheries and habitats through advocacy, enforcement and citizen action."
I take this seriously, please join me.
Here's the flier;
We have several very serious issues going on, and I am involved in trying to find solutions for all of them. Tonight, some of the brightest, and most dedicated advocates for our estuaries will be there helping to generate enough funds for our Indian Riverkeeper program to survive another year. A good chance to hob nob, learn their programs and efforts, and how we are working together collectively to solve our problems. Florida Sportsman the entity supports us, so does Mr. Karl Wickstrom, its Founder. He has told me he will be there tonight also. We will have the new petition there tonight, looking for signatures and support. Karl put together the wordage, and is once again leading from the front. Here's the petition photographed from my monitor;
Bottom line; We need your help. I need to grow my own membership, which is currently somewhere around 550 members, to increase my Office's Standing, both within the Community, and legally. Given the amount of money our opposition can wield, we must depend upon citizen action in large vocal numbers.
We have a raffle.. $10.00, or 3 for $25.00 for three days, two nights at
River Palms Cottages and Fish Camp, plus a half day fishing trip with a very good guide. Rufus and Malinda Wakeman have also been generous supporters of the Indian Riverkeeper program. There are blind auction items to peruse, good folks, fun times, please join us and come learn how YOU can make a difference.
