Tucker's Island.

Hey Guys, when looking at tide tables for the Homossassa river area, do you use the Tucker's Sland location? And if so, where s Tucers Island, cannot find on my chart. I am panning on fishing a little mire in tis area, and trying to plan my fishing trips.

Thanks in advance !:crossed

It's the island right across the river from the one with Tarpon Lodge. It has a dock and a house on it that used to be a restaurant.

The Tucker's Island tidal station is probably the best one for the area. But realize that if you go south towards Mason Creek the tide can be an hour earlier. Up the Salt River toward the St. Martin's River the tide can be as much as 2 hr later. Wind direction, velocity, and the relative position of high and low pressure systems in the Gulf can have a huge effect on the timing and extent of each tide. So don't count on the listed tides as gospel.

Yeah I have deffinately noticed this difference in tide times in this area. I have been spending some time in CR, I can't get over the difference in Shell Island and say Mangrove point ! Never had these concerns in freshwater lakes I used to fish.

    Thanks for the info Doc.
