Gas prices @#$%$

Scout3Scout3 Posts: 154 Deckhand
Gas went up here in Jacksonville from 8 to 12 cents overnight. It usually changes by 1-3 cents. Never seen such a jump.

Same here. Don't worry the recession is over, everyone is making a killing, taxes are down, milk is $2/gal....a few cents more for gas is no big deal.

I hear it's illegal to sell milk for $2/gallon or other things too cheap.

So they will take more of it? Sweet. I strive to make under $250k . I need to get back to driving the rental car so I don't pay for gas.

Hmmmm all the gas price websites show I can buy regular unleaded in Jupiter for as low as 3.50 per gallon with the last ten hours.

Updated when? I filled up yesterday on the turnpike down in south PBC and then here in the farms. I don't know about in town. I missed filling up the boat when it "cheap".

That's fine. I'm sayin' I was shocked to see it all over $4 already. That Citgo is right by my old house and is about the cheapest in town. The shell station(forum member owned) diagonal from it is about the highest without an account. But it wouldn't be $.40 different. I wouldn't use Citgo if they were $1 cheaper.

Well dang, this site shows all Jupiter gas well under $4. Maybe I'm getting ski-rewed out here. Sadly the Turnpike has been cheaper than town a lot.

Last 2 months of last year my rental car use didn't exceed what the mileagle paid would be on my personal vehicle so I've been driving the '05 pickup. Gets about 18mpg but diesel never really came down to gas prices and won't again thanks to ULSD crap. Looks like travel is picking back up so when I do expenses this month I'll see what happens. The wife's Escalade gets 15mpg and only a tiny bit better on Premium. First gas trucks we've had since '05. Never knew gasoline prices before this one.

...and on a slightly different note...Does anyone know why gas is always more expensive in coastal areas then it is in the central parts of the state?

Here it's tax. When gas was way high there was some nonsense about N Palm Beach through Ft Pierce being more because of transport distance fort Lauderdale distribution. However, I've found the opposite. I assume they have a lower county tax on gasoline.
