Yikes! Good thing I have insurance. I just got the bill from my recent surgery - $108,000.00!!! Just for the operation and parts.
The total for the whole injury (ER, MRI, etc) was over $145,000.00
I only had to pay $5,600 thanks to Blue Cross. I will still have to pay several hundred for PT in coming weeks.
Dislocated shoulder on December 2nd. Surgery on Dec. 19th (6 weeks ago today). Feeling better each day.
Edit - I pay $125 per month for health insurance, company pays another $220 for me.

Glad it's working out for you & get well soon...
That's it, selling my Harley!
I had to take my son to the ER and of course "out of network" they would only pay $200 of a $1300 bill. I waited about 8 months and after many threatening notices and saying they were going to send me to collections I called and offer them $300 and they took it.
Along with your credit rating
Don't laugh, I owe one hospital some big money, they gave it to a collection agency to collect, after arguing with me for over 6 months they finally gave the debt back to the hospital to collect. Haven't heard from the hospital for over 18 months.
My dad had emergency surgery last Friday and is still in the hospital. I can only imagine what the bill will be...thank God for insurance! Even with what insurance actually ends up paying it would still be enough to bankrupt the average person.

No it was all good. Funny thing is I had to take wife to the ER and used the same trick but I didn't wait this time. I just told them what I would pay and they took it. Saved about $400 on that bill too.
Our insurance paid $4529.00. our share was $1132.25
Crazy expensive.:hairraiser
In dealing with my dad, it is hard to believe it could get worse. Our healthcare system is already pathetic.
You have to pay a ton for health care. How else would uneducated, non-medical guys like Rick Scott get to make $700 million off the system otherwise?
when we say the same thing about welfare recipients, you cry like a wounded buffalo Sopchoppy
It's their money, they spend it how they like. Truth and honesty have nothing to do with it. - Mr Jr
