Pine Island Sound Fishing Report 1/23/13

Hey everybody- I'm new to the forum, but I am going to start putting fishing reports up from time to time.

Fishing has been good the past 2 weeks in mid Pine Island Sound- not as good as it was on the last new moon, but we are still catching reds and big trout every day. I have been throwing Super Spook Jrs. in chrome, bone/chrome over marbled bottom in the Sound. Floating Sebile Stick Shadds in Amber Fashion and Hollow Mullet are great baits to throw if you are having reds blow up on topwater and miss them. I like the 90mm size. If you find a good number of fish, throw out a shrimp under a popping cork. Big trout have been all over, we had quite few days where we landed 20+ trout over 20".

I have seen some red tide around- dead mullet, catfish, baby sharks and a few trout. Yesterday morning we had a northwest wind, my eyes and lungs were burning pretty bad. Thankfully I haven't seen any dead redfish.

Enjoy the pictures and good luck fishing!
