Tarpon Fishing in Springs

Went to a spring a couple times last winter and every time it was loaded with tarpon, especially the headspring. Average 2-3ft, maybe 3.5 biggest. Does anyone fish for them in springs and have luck? At the spring I'm talking about you aren't allowed to fish but I'm sure if I could throw a shiner into the middle of the hundreds of them it'd get bit.

There are also other springs along this river

Your seeing Tarpon at Blue Springs on the St Johns??? I've never heard of that!

I've occasionaly seen them up in the Suwannee but not very often and not in numbers.

Yep, but only in the winter........ in the middle of the winter there'll be hundreds at the headspring, probably average 2' biggest around 3.5'. If only I could throw a shiner out...

In south florida people catch them in neighborhood ponds, big ones too

It would be fun to fish them. Maybe at night in a small boat ?
