I have let it grow out for about 5 months before, but I got these **** waves in it that really make it look goofy, might give it a year this time and see if they straighten out.

It seems that everyone I see with a beard is scratching their chin and neck all the time.
My face always itched after shaving thats why I started letting it grow. Oddly enough I cant stand more than 1/4-3/8" hair on my head but my beard's about 2-3 inches long now and it doesnt bother me a bit. Maybe the itching you see other do is them playing with their hair? I am always fiddlin with mine. If it itches its probably because they dont keep it clean. I wash mine daily.
