We found this cd in the boat a while back with no writing or anything, I guess it was the previous owners. we always play it in the boat...always The first songs were "lochloosa" and some song about fire flys and they're awesome but we always wondered who it was. Now I know thanks!
Bliminal is going to be on the Rhombello Jam cruise out of Tampa in September, along with JJ Grey & Mofro. Seems like it will be a fun party. You can try to win tickets at JJ's site, all proceeds to towards the St. John's Riverkeepers and the Snook Foundation.
Nick, that's a funny Lochloosa story. I met JJ about 10 years ago, wrote a piece about fishing Lochloosa with him that ran in FS in 04 or 05, I think. We reran it on the Snook Foundation site a few years ago when JJ did a benefit concert for us. Been friends ever since, he's a good dude. http://www.snookfoundation.org/news/partner/88-lochloosa-is-on-my-mind.html

Kate Rogers- really little know Canadian artist who has recorded some of the best downtempo music with Grand Central Records and now plays more folk/bluesy stuff
Gonna see Bonarama next month, a good New Orleans style brass band.
It's Bonerama, be very careful looking for them on the internet unless you prefer **** p0rn to brass bands. Their site: http://boneramamusic.com/
What show are you going to? I might see them in Orlando, but I wish they were closer. They're still great, but did you see them in the early days when they had five trombones and a sousaphone instead of a bass? You haven't heard brass until you hear a wall of trombones doing War Pigs, Crosstown Traffic, Whipping Post, etc.
Pimps of Joytime, from Brooklyn but with ties to New Orleans. Sometimes they tour with Bonerama's drummer Eric Bolivar.
Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs: brass/soul/hip hop from New Orleans.
Grant Peeples: Leftneck Florida Folk from Sopchoppy.
Have Gun Will Travel: Bradenton alt-country band that should be a national act.

DOH!!!
We're gonna hit the Bamboo Room show in Lake Worth on 8/25. I live almost within stumbling distance.
If you haven't been, the Bamboo Room is a great venue. Decent acoustics, nice looking venue, they don't oversell and there is a fantastic drink menu.
