A friend has been organizing this for a few years. He takes toys to the kids in Bimini that are donations by folks. He tries to go by boat but usually ends up flying due to weather. It's all donated time, fuel, use of boat, etc. He doesn't publicize except to friends on Facebook. It just dawned on me to spread the word here, but it's the last minute. They are going on Friday from Lauderdale. If anyone wants to reach him, let me know or check him out on Facebook:

It's time to start collecting toys for the kids in Bimini again!! We have the use of a boat to deliver even more toys this year. Thanks to everyone who has donated in the past and those who have already donated this year!
Sea conditions have relegated us to a different mode of transportation. Tropic Ocean Airway's Nick Veltre and Rob Ceravolo are flying all the gifts over Friday morning. Big thanks to these guys for stepping up again and getting the job done. If anyone ever needs a flight to anywhere there's water, give them a call!
Big Thanks to Paradise Bank for a huge donation to the Bimini children's charity toy drive....Awesome!!!
The kids we are bringing presents to are between 3 and 15. Bimini is only 50 miles away and is very popular with US boaters. This is a great way to give something special to a group of kids (300+\-) who are very deserving.

We filled up an Expedition and a F350 with bags of toys all the way to the roof, which was enough to need two trips on the plane. There were stuffed animals, action figures, legos, matchbox cars, video game systems, remote control cars, barbies....you name it.
These guys really pulled together a huge Christmas for a bunch of kids in Bimini. Ryan said that he arranged with Bahamian Police to meet them and handle the distribution from the Police Station. I would have loved to be there.
Anyway, I'm sure this crew is happy to see some good will and cheer spread to our gracious hosts across the stream. Next year, I'll try to get ahead of the game and post earlier, in case anyone here wants to chip in. My family and I will definitely help out again next year and look to make it a tradition.
Before bagging...about half the load.
Ready to fly.

Apparently, they're trying to get some little league baseball going over there. If anyone comes across equipment for that, I am sure Nick at Tropic Ocean would deliver on one of his runs. I'm keeping my eyes and ears open.
Happy New Year!
