Anyone have any bait info on the Boca Raton area??
Nothing substantial, but I have recently seen some small baits, maybe 2 inches long and probably small pilchards, just off of Gumbo Limbo in the ICW. If you're looking for some snapper candy, that may help. If you're looking for sailfish bait then you're out of luck.
Tons of cigar minnows a few weekends ago at Juno pier. Look for them on your sonar then drop the sabiki, huge clouds. Were biting #6 sabiki in green or red even at 9am after my late start. Had a few larger runners break me off, but landed a couple of those too probably 6-8 inches perfect size for kite baits.Bad news was, current was ripping and my 2 dozen baits accounted for 0 keeper fish
Heading out in the AM... was looking for some insight on bait. We generally head out of Hillsboro, go S to the reef balls, tie up, chum in water, and the Ballyhoo show up about 10-15 min later. Most try and stay just out of net range, but a slight breeze to haze the surface water, or a #10 hook / piece of shrimp about 2' under a cork will help put em in the boat.
I am looking for a good place for threadfins, gogs, or pilchers out of Boynton or Hillsboro pls.
