Need help with adding an Avatar here!

Anyone know the secret? I've spent way more time than I should have and yet I can't get it to approve one. It's an 80 x 80 size limit so I found a 75 x 75 photo to use and I got this:

Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file.

If I used my own photo and reduced it to 80 x 80 should that work? If I find a photo on Google Images, how can I reduce it?

It still works, even though it tells you it failed.

System will also resize your pic for you. Mine was 322 kb when I uploaded it.
