Over $2000 just in trophies and another $2000 in prizes so far... Looking for input and ideas. Don't be shy about bringing em to the table... These tournies are based on what you want. Not what we want...

Hey Paul. Why such a late start? I've caught at least a dozen over there in the past 6 years before 8:30AM. Hopefully we will be in for this one.........

Cause I don't want to get up that early... :)

We might go 8... All my fish in last three years were 11am-4pm... Remember that Guys tourney was early start and nobody hooked up before noon except our 11 AM fish the third day... Them shutting down at 3 had me bugged cause we had been banging good late in recent weeks. Like I said I might stretch to 8AM on the one end and could even be talked to 4:30 on the other but scales will still close at 6 sharp. ( I gotta have some time to record scores and get ready for awards)...

PS... You better be there... :)

I am working on it!!! Still haven't bought a new boat yet since baby arrived, but working on putting something together. Nice that its wedged between BBC stuff.

Viking getting closer to realistic price... If it gets a little lower i might buy it...

Question about rules........I am sure you have been thinking about it as well. IGFA or "BBC" rules when it comes to lure/ballyhoo combos???

Thank you Engel coolers for coming aboard as sponsors...

Couple entries! Over five months out!

Butt deep in trophies now! Putting right tags on right ones tough. 4 orders hit the door and I'm tickled to say each one was filled and shipped properly right to the last piece... With as many pieces as I had in these orders thats a miracle!

$2450 worth of trophies lined up on this one... The same base $10k cash to start things out and i expect that base number to grow when we get past 20 boats... I'm sure our sponsors will come heavy to the table this round as well. "Added entry" will drive the kitty up with levels for everyone from the working man to those with the big cahones...
New shirt design closing in on completion...

All in the quest for the late spring slobs ... :)

No kill will be the format... Release only...
  • CompleatCompleat Posts: 2,777 Captain
No... Digital time date stamp photos clearly identifying species with colored cards and special instructions to end the sequence... Similar to bacardi and the others over there... Points are such that blue marlin will be the target species of choice...

Do we sign up thru you or BBGC? BBGC does not mention the early sign up discount. How many boats so far?
  • CompleatCompleat Posts: 2,777 Captain
Not sure exactly... This will be pretty big as still five months out I think we have six paid and that doesn't include three that are 100% coming (I have 2 of them and the other is the resorts charter boat) . Quite a few crossing over from the wahoo events as well... I'm going to guess about 30 at this point but still too early to get specific.
As for the page thanks for bringing that to my attention. They do not mention it specifically (they are supposed to have that right at the top of the page) But I see it built in below and even thats wrong. Its supposed to be $250 off the $1450 or 1200... They are showing 1250...
You can tell them you talked to me and they will adjust accordingly.

We have Miss February from Playboy and John Hemingway at the wahoo event. Can't wait to see who and what we get to show up at this one... :)

Lets not forget this one... Shes gaining momentum quick as well... Word has spread far and wide on this and last couple years catches show that the big blues are not only there but there in good numbers on the rise of the may moon... The first tourney that had a couple years ago had a small turn out cause it was too dog gone expensive and not enough prize payout. There were an inordinate amount of big fish bowed up and loste. We even coughed up two of the three we had bowed up. What I think happened was guys were geared down expecting more sail and white activity. The big fish made short work of the lighter gear and smaller hooks. we got serious the last day with bigger terminal gear and kept that fish stuck...

Somebody asked if we made a decision on kill or no kill. This one will be no kill for extra points. If a fish comes up dead and you want to take it to smoke or give to natives we won't stop you but its points will be only same as release.
Next year we may add a one night swordfish thing the night before capts meeting if we have enough interest.

Team Tiburon II who recently upped for the wahoo smackdown is in for this one too... Growing this far out is a good thing...

Base camp pretty well set up here... Wahoo this week then focus on the billfish...
  • CompleatCompleat Posts: 2,777 Captain
Lot of people in the wahoo one running currently also interested in this one. The wahoo one basically sold the place out, I suggest that if you plan on maybe getting in , do so sooner than later because I'm pretty sure we will sell out quick on this one...
