I received a questionnaire from NOAA

I received a questionnaire in the mail from NOAA that says that I was selected from Florida's saltwater fishermen at random.

It ask very specific questions about age, number of persons in my household, gender and age of each.

It asks a specific question wanting to know if each member of my household is of Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin.

It also ask for the race if not Hispanic in a separate question.

As far as fishing questions it asks if we fished from shore, from private or charter boat and, if so, how many days, occurred between September 1, 2012 and October 31, 2012.

Any thoughts about the survey?

What are they fishing for?

What does race have to do with fishing. The survey sounds fishy to me.

I think they asked me about race when I receieved a phone survey from them earler this year. The phone survey I got was a COMPLETE joke, and really shows why there data has become so flawed by there own engineering.

Please tell them you are anything other than a white male. Maybe half AA and Latina and everyone that fishes with you are gay and handicapped. Might get more than a 40 day season with a 1 fish limit.
