he doesn't even need an official test light. He needs a 12ish volt light bulb.

I have a secret weapon, to be revealed and unleashed on Saturday morning. Picked it up at Autozone last night on the way home from work. It's going to be a blockbuster.

This guy who everybody is calling a woman has a broken truck. He is asking how to fix it. Now all the people who have heard about the broken truck are offering advice on how to fix it. The reason why there are 16 pages is that nobody really has a clue what to do, so they are telling him what to do because it is obvious he has no clue. So in summary, the truck is still broke!

and he's using a trolling motor as a test light.

I think they talked him into a code reader. I look forward to it showing no codes for the obvious reason.

OK, problem fixed. It was a bad solenoid (fender well mounted). $11 part, and she cranks perfectly. Thanks for all the help guys!!!

Now, I'm getting ready to replace the water pump right now - is the water pump located in the front or the back of the truck? Does it have a handle on it? TYIA:)

Did you get a **** $5 test light or not? You'd have known all of this in 5 minutes.

I'd look for that clam shape water pick up then follow the hose to the pump, then you'll see the handle. :grin

Water pumps are no fun. If you have to remove the radiator first (you won't) you'll have twice the bloody knuckles. Sometimes it's worth the extra :30 min.
  • gandrfabgandrfab Posts: 21,646 AG
radiator should stay in place on that truck.

Why should I waste $5 on a test light when I already have a trolling motor?

    The water pump.

Everything came off great except I busted off a stud ........

Tried drilling the b itch out but just enlarged the hole a little. Gonna try to fund a self-tapping stud at AZ. More news later.
