End of 3rd quarter-how's business?

hatcityhatcity Posts: 3,446 Captain
Been a great 3rd for me. Not up to last years level yet.
Company I run for picked up another contract, so, looks like I might beat last year.
How to hide/spend some before Uncle Obama takes it?
I was not born stupid, just had lots of practice

Not very good on our end, executed our 2nd reduction in force in the past year. Glad you are seeing a spike.

worst I've seen but our quarter ends October 31. Seriously our customers are sitting on the checkbooks until January. Most of these are small business meaning under 500 seats. We pushed out nearly $1m. Healthcare is the exception. They are putting more stuff in to deal with the temporary rise.
I would be very surprised if 5-10k people weren't let go by year end.
Company as a whole looks pretty good due to wise acquisitions.

3rd quarter was the best in almost 20 years. Mainly off cultivated relationships that took almost 20 years.
Other than that I would say it was all luck.

This quarter blows. Just like last quarter and the qtrs before that no one is building chit.

The only work there is is the required regulatory monitoring and reporting.

There is no end in site.

Much of the work comes from states to the north and they are going into cold season so they will slow down. Four years of lucky revenue.

Third quarter was better than it's been in a looonnnng time. Hard to call it anything but a blessing or luck.

Bidding has dried up. Several large negotiated projects are just sitting waiting on somebody to pull the trigger.... I'm busy through the end of the year, but if something doesn't break loose soon, I'll be slow by February.

Up well over last year, but that's not saying much. Overall, although I've seen an increase, it's still down from 4 years ago. Larger remodels and some light commercial build-outs, but evryone is very careful. Profit margins are down to try and stay competitive. I'm good trough the end of the year, but the forecast for next year is cautiously optimistic.

Not a boss and don't have details but we've got a bunch of new contracts, profits are up on existing accounts, and they will likely be hiring in the near future. We're moving our shop to a MUCH larger building.

Held steady, 4th and 1st quarters look very bright, potentially adding 40-50% growth.

Profits have doubled this year but I'm not sure about qtr to qtr results, but I calculated about 2million a day in average sales. So I think they're a few bright spots left in the world.

2nd and 3rd quarters have been very good for RE with lots of additional business in the pipeline. I'm very thankful for how it's been.

Our 3rd's are always slow. In month the snowbirds will return, then it's a full blown ape **** fest until May get's here. I'm enjoying the slow down now, cause I know what coming.

    Bad slow here in Columbus!
We had a good 1st and 2nd but it has slowed to a crawl. We are not alone as several other shops are slow as well. I believe folks are sitting on their money until after the election. Hope it gets better!

August, and July wasn't that bad. September was the worst month in 8 years. $24,000 less in sales than August.

This 3rd has shown the best growth in the commercial real estate market that we have seen in years.
