he didn't listen the first time you said it he ain't gonna hear it now. non computer literate people have a hard time grasping what your even referring to.
Unless something drastic has changed recently with photobucket you can't swap out photos. You can edit them or delete them but adding a whole new picture in place of another using the same name hasn't been possible in the past.

Trying it...

you upload a pic to photobucket from your computer with a name such as "griz" and post it.
then you delete the pic "griz" from your photobucket.
then you upload a different pic to your photobucket named "griz".
viola.

Hell, before the last forum crash I had my signature set up to change every single time the page refreshed. I could have set it to change only between the hours of 2-5AM or something if I wanted to. The point isn't the ability of the users to change their content. I could have been popping up **** with my auto-rotating signature, but I would have been banned pretty **** quickly I'm sure. Which is the point.
Who cares, its sunday step away from the puter, ejoy your family and friends, and attenpting to clean oil off your driveways and what have you...
you dropped oil on your driveway? im squealing on you! im calling the epa right now?

you are all racist for eating black angus, now someone post a picture of a dead bobcat to show our manly domination over creatures wild. eh?
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.
I don't see why all the 70,000 or whatever posts on the forum need to constantly scanned for smut. After all we're not in church here. Just delete the obvious stuff, and respond to complaints. If somebody changes a photo from way back when who's going to notice. Who has time to look back through old threads for this stuff? Seems compulsive to even suggest that. All you have to do is make a reasonable effort to police the forum, and you shouldn't have to guarantee to advertisers that nothing offensive will EVER appear.
Lighten up.
So that's what happened to the edit feture. I wanted to edit a carbine I have up for sale and lower the price, now I know why I can't. Thanks Mods for making another unnessiary change.

its another instance where an admin/mod implemented a stupid rule without thinking it through. welcome to the fs new world order.

MR this explanation is for you and my last on this issue.
The inability to edit after ten minutes was enacted due to a small contingency of users that were abusing the ability to edit. This group of users have found it amusing to post under an alias username with a simple post then after the post dropped to the bottom of the page they would edit it with inappropriate material, nude or pornography photos just to tease and test the limits of tolerance by the moderators. FS cannot filter past replies to see when or if these adolescent actions occur. With 996,000 posts, adding more mods to continuously check past posts for compliance is not feasible. Furthermore it is not as simple a banning a user once identified as these users names come from a pool of disposable user names set up simply to be banned. This is a reactive action to mitigate a calculated action by a few with the sole intent to disrupt. FS has an obligation to its members and sponsors to protect the integrity of the posts that can be accessed at anytime.
It is unfortunate that the actions of few have a negative impact to the whole but FS saw no other way to quickly contain this problem.
Have a nice day and thank you for your understanding.
DW,
I can understand why that was your last time to input on this...It DOESN'T APPLY to YOU! as seen by the below post that you had the ability to edit after the new rule. Maybe this should be posted in the double standards thread?

Members never had the ability to change thread titles before or after the editing change.

You hover your cursor around the end of the title of a thread you've made and it turns into a text editing cursor. Click and it opens an editing box.
Maybe with past setups, not with vbulletin.

Check my thread in the test section. I just did it.
So what are you complaining about then??
Must have been changed then, can you do it again?

I'm complaining about the 10 min edit window. It's a terrible answer to a problem invisible to the vast majority of forum users and it doesn't fix the problem it was intended to fix.
Apparently though, thread titles can be edited after the 10 min window, which is interesting.
Interesting. Looks like you gained one and lost one then. Didn't know they had changed that as it is not in the Mods hands to do so.

I'd assume you can no longer edit it at this point since the 10 min rule is in effect. Bet you can't! :grin
