I headed offshore around 8:00 AM to find some nice seas. There were tons of boneheads and Jack Crevals busting on the surface between the inlet and 70 feet of water. If you want to bend some rods thats the place to be. I went straight offshore, did not pass go or collect $200. I did pass a few bait schools in 50 feet of water and a large collection of boats in about the same depth (they must have been on bait). I passed a small rip in 140, and 180 and and straight out to the hill with nothing going on. went out to 1200 feet with nothing but a few rips that were a 1/2 mile long. they held bait, but no weeds. I trolled up and down with no luck. I trolled the hill on the way back with no luck. I did a little blind trolling with no luck. Those rips I saw in 140 and 180 turned into huge current rips with little weeds, other reported via VHF a few dolphin picked off of those spots. I trolled for a little on those and headed back in as a storm was headed my way.
I hope all goes better for everyone this weekend....tight lines - Bob
